Lexington County School District Three will be using the three built-in Bad Weather Days that are in the district’s calendar to make up some of the instructional time that was missed as a result of Hurricane Florence back in September. Those makeup days will be February 18th, March 15th, and April 22nd of 2019.
A total of four instructional days were missed in Lexington Three as a result of Hurricane Florence and the executive closing order that was issued by Gov. Henry McMaster. According to South Carolina law, the first three missed school days must be made up. Days four, five and six that are missed may be waived by the local school board (with a majority vote).
Due to the fact that additional school days could be missed this fall and winter as a result of inclement weather, the Lexington Three Board of Trustees has agreed to push back making a decision about the fourth day that was missed due to Hurricane Florence and any other days that may be missed until sometime in late February or March.
