Social Studies » Overview

The members of the Social Studies Department are Barry Thomas (Department Head), Robert Roudybush, and Maggee Ellis.

The Social Studies Department strives to enlighten and involve the students in areas of the past, present, and future. By doing this the student will become aware of the heritage and the functions of government. Through this course of study, the student will see the need for good citizenship and how to function better in society. Three units of social studies are required. Two must be U.S. History and Government/Economics and one elective. The department strongly suggests at least one additional elective. Other Social Studies courses may be taken as interest dictates.
