B-L High School Senior Beta Club Members Place in State Competitions

For the first time ever, this year's SC Senior Beta Club Convention was held virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than traveling to Myrtle Beach as in year's past, 25 B-L High School Beta Club students were able to participate in a wide range of competitions from the comfort and convenience of home or school.
Operating under the theme "It All Began with Beta," a range of more than 30 competitions were offered as part of the convention. Registered attendees were provided with links to complete or submit competition materials between January 15th and 25th.
BLHS students competed in several academic competitions including Agriscience, Math, and Social Studies, as well as Visual Arts, Speech, and Poetry contests. Judging and scoring were then conducted with winners being announced on February 22nd.  Congratulations to the following BLHS students who placed in the competitions:
~ Katelyn Alveshire - 1st place Agriscience
~ Wade Oxner - 2nd place Agriscience
~ Ella Sawyer - 3rd place Jewelry
~ James Jarrett - 1st place Woodworking
Students placing in the top three for each state category qualify to attend the National Beta Club Convention this summer, which is currently scheduled to take place in Orlando, Florida. Congratulations BLHS students!
